01 / The story behind the songs
More Than a Voice,
a Storyteller.
Every song Yari M creates is driven by one purpose: to make people feel. Blending Latin pop with R&B, Afro, and urban influences, she has built an artistic identity rooted in honest storytelling, emotion, and the belief that music should leave a lasting impact.
Born and raised in Puerto Rico, Yari M moved to Miami in 2017, where she discovered her passion for music. Drawing inspiration from American pop, R&B, and Latin urban music, she developed a distinctive sound combining her roots with contemporary pop storytelling.
Since independently releasing her first songs in 2020, Yari M has viewed music as a lifelong journey of growth rather than a race for success.
Her journey began during the COVID-19 pandemic, when she and her father transformed a garage into their first recording studio. There, she recorded music, explored songwriting, learned production, and developed her artistic identity.
As her career grew, they opened their first official studio under Black Diamond Music, creating a space for artists to record and collaborate. Working alongside Latin urban artists, producers, songwriters, and engineers helped shape her creative and professional journey.
